Super FULL Fibre Broadband Service To Bournemouth Homes (FTTH)

How can I check if I can get the service at my home?
At the moment (01.03.2023) we cover over 49 thousand homes in the Bournemouth area, with Christchurch and Poole homes coming on line very soon this year, with thousands more being added each month. To check if the service is available to your home just click the Request a Quote button below the Fibre plan. We will then check all your address information in our systems to see if we have coverage to your home, or you are already on the CitryFibre network. Our services are not available for businesses.
Can I have a static IP? How much will it cost?
Yes you can have a static IP. It costs £7.20 per month inc VAT. However by default all our services come with nat dynamic IP included in the monthly rental.
Do you offer other Fibre Broadband services if I can't have the new service to my home?
Simple Telecoms can provide the next generation of “true-fibre” (FTTP) broadband services nationwide, depending on availability. Meaning you don’t have to be local to Bournemouth, Pool or Christchurch to benefit from our great packages.
I'm already a CityFibre customer - can I move over to you?
You certainly can, and it's FREE for a limited time. We’ll work with you to establish the migration date from your current provider, then we’ll take care of the rest. We recommend you check you are out of any contract with your current provider as well.
‡ What speeds can I get?
All speeds are measured with a direct connection to the router, and not over WiFi. The speeds on WiFi can/will vary depending on the environment and other factors. Simple Super Fast Broadband provision uses CityFibre residential lines with the highest residential Cityfibre line profile available to any ISP. This line profile speed has a 1Gbps peak downstream and upstream rate. A small amount of this throughput will be consumed by overhead so we advertise our products as “up to” speeds slightly lower than the profile peak (E.g 100/160/300/500/900Mbps). The Simple Fast Broadband uses a local core network that is built to backhaul high volumes of IP traffic, so you’ll see the best possible internet service deliverable to you via the CityFibre network. Given the GPON design of the CityFibre FTTP network, customer connections are contended. For this reason committed rates are considerably lower than peak rates. Simple Telecoms Broadband residential customers consistently receive service close to or at the advertised “up to” speeds. Speed is measured up to the router. Slow speeds can be due to several things, such as your WiFi use, your equipment, congestion at peak times, and the number of people accessing a particular website or service. We strongly recommend checking your equipment specification to make sure it's compatible to work with speeds over 100Mbps before you order any service over a 100Mbps speed.
How is the service installed?
Service is installed either overhead or underground depending on roll out. You will be asked to sign wayleave this is emailed to you automatically by City Fibre when we place the order (we'll need a working email address). A mains powered ONT with ethernet port will be installed, which then gets patched into the router we have sent you. However, If additional work is required, this may take longer than the initial set-up time provided and there could be additional costs. Our team of specialists will contact you to confirm what additional work is needed and how long this will take, usually within four weeks from the date your order was placed. If you don’t want to proceed with your order based on this, you will be able to cancel your order and no charges will be applied to your account.
Why is there an installation fee, when other providers offer this for free?
¥ Limited time only - From the first of March until the end of May 2023 we are offering FREE NEW Installation on our 100/20 and 160/160 Symmetrical Broadband, or a FREE Migration if you are already a TalkTalk or Vodafone service using CityFibre. Please see more information for T&Cs. But nothing in life is free, it's included. Other providers will offer a free or discounted installation but will place you in an 18- or 24-month contract to make this back and charge you a higher monthly cost. You also need to check the broadband service itself, as many providers like BT, TalkTalk and Virgin do NOT offer the same service for the price they are advertising. We recommend you the maths and check the speeds. However, we do offer low cost Fibre Broadband service with download speeds from 100Mbps to 1000Mbps, with slower upload speeds Just give our customers services to call for more information.
Is the Fibre broadband contract really just a 30-day rolling contract?
Yes, all our Home Symmetrical Fibre plans are on a 30-day rolling contract, with 30 days’ notice of termination. There are NO disconnection or termination fees to pay, and we can even switch the service off the same day if needed. You just need to remember that by terminating the Fibre service this will also terminate any telephone services as well, which will result in a loss of your telephone number unless its ported out beforehand to a new provider.
In the event of a power cut how can I still use my broadband?
You would need to purchase a battery backup for both the router, the Fibre ONT and the handset. You can purchase a Battery Back Up from us which will keep the router unit powered for about 1 hour. Otherwise, customers will need to provide their own Battery Back Up arrangements for these devices which we have found typically costs around £90 with VAT. If you would like help with this, please call us on 0330 122 0000 Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM
If there is a fault on the Fibre is there an SLA?
As this is a Home service the SLA on all Fibre products is 3/4 business day target repair. If you are reliant on a telephone service we strongly recommend a mobile backup should there be a Fibre service loss.

Can I keep my telephone number?
Yes, we can move 99% of telephone numbers - Most people have had their telephone number for years, keeping their telephone number is a must. Unlike most providers, we run our own telephone network and platforms (Similar to TalkTalk and Virgin), and have telecom switches based in Bournemouth, London, Amsterdam, and Strasbourg. So regardless of if you're moving home, to a different part of the country, or even a different part of the world, you will always be able to take your current phone number with you as long as you have some access to data.
Can I move my telephone number to a different provider?
Yes, however, there would be a small admin cost to do this. The provider you are moving to will be responsible for the transfer process. Customers that have ported their telephone number out of the Simple Telecoms network to another provider will not be eligible for a free of charge port back to the Simple Telecoms network until the term of 36 months has passed from the original port out date, irrespective of any current or future offers being advertised in the press or Simple Telecoms websites. Should you wish to move your telephone number back to us within the 36-month period, there would be a cost to do so. Should you retain the FTTH/FTTP broadband service with us the monthly cost for the broadband plan service would be adjusted to reflect the cost of the Broadband service only.
In the event of a power cut how can I still use my telephone?
You would need to purchase a battery backup for both the router, the Fibre ONT and the handset. You can purchase a Battery Backup from us which will keep the router unit powered for about 1 hour. Otherwise, customers will need to provide their own Battery Backup arrangements for these devices which we have found typically costs around £90 with VAT. If you would like help with this, please call us on 0330 122 0000 Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM
Will my telephone extensions still work?
Yes, and no, when a telephone line number is converted to a digital system all extensions will stop working, as extensions are copper based lines. However, Openreach can fit a Voice Reinjection plate, which can cost over £150.00 and will require a separate visit by an Openreach engineer. to be fitted. In Openreach terminology, Voice Reinjection is the way to route voice signals from a VoIP/Cloud service (Router) onto the existing home telephone wiring (other phone sockets), providing these extensions have been installed by Openreach and not a third party. This will become more common as copper pairs are replaced by optical fibre. Using a Voice Reinjection plate will allow continued use of extension wiring. However, we strongly recommend using a BT 4600 cordless phone kit as reusing these extension sockets and wiring may give you problems in the future. Openreach are only responsible for faults up to the back of the main telephone socket / Voice Reinjection plate. So, if you do have a problem with an extension this could be costly to fix.

Super Symmetrical Ultrafast Fibre Broadband Important Information

Credit Limit and Credit Check
When you apply for any telephone or Broadband service contract with us we will perform a hard credit check on the user and the address the service is being provided at. We may also credit check the bill payer if different to the user. This will involve a credit reference agency to confirm your identity/s. They'll also examine your financial records and borrowing history. Using this information provided by the credit-rating agency, which in our case is Creditsafe. We will then make a decision whether to accept you for the contract/service you’ve applied for. This decision is made solely by our credit-checking team based on the information from Creditsafe. A credit check is ONLY performed once a direct Debit has been set up with us, as this is regarded as an acceptance of our terms and conditions, and intent to apply for a service. If your credit rating prevents you from getting a contract from us we may offer a tailored solution for people with bad credit. If your application is accepted a credit limit will be placed on the account for any chargeable calls. This safeguards our customers from running up a large bill. If this credit limit is reached outbound calls will be barred other than 999 freephone and the NHS helplines. However, if you have a Care Alarm this may cease to operate if your credit limit is breached. Call spend Warnings can be set up within our online billing system, and we strongly recommend this is done. Please note. Any credit check performed be it on the end user and or the bill payer will show on your/their credit history.
Who is CreditSafe? - Creditsafe, are global intelligence experts, specialise in business and consumer credit checking, and is the world's most used provider of online credit reports.
