Due to updated Ofcom regulations, providers like us are now required to supply battery-backup solutions to keep Openreach equipment running during power outages, along with several other compliance obligations. Because of this, we are no longer able to offer Full Fibre Broadband services.
These regulatory requirements have significantly increased the cost and complexity of providing Full Fibre, especially for our elderly and more vulnerable customers. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw from supplying Full Fibre services. We understand this may be disappointing and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for the eldaly who just need a telephone service.
If you choose a new provider, please ensure you inform them if you have a care alarm or any other monitored device connected to your telephone line. If this is not declared, Openreach may refuse to complete the installation.
Your new provider must also supply, free of charge, a suitable battery-backup unit for both the router and the Fibre ONT (Optical Network Terminal) to ensure your service remains operational during a power cut.
